(PROFILE) I’m Ayaka B. Ito, an independent Creative Director based in New York City and Tokyo, specializing in type-driven brand identities, editorial design, illustrations, and typefaces for clients in the fields of art, hospitality, lifestyle, fashion, and beauty.

Over 15 years I have worked across brand identity, editorial design, and custom type for fashion and lifestyle clients including Rizzoli, Condé Nast, Tiffany & Co., Le Labo, and Gohar World. My type education runs from Rochester Institute of Technology, School of Visual Arts, Type@Cooper's Condensed / Extended Programs, to my master's at TypeMedia in The Hague. My practice draws equally from Latin and Japanese letterforms, and I am always in pursuit of making things beautiful.
