Linzi and I worked together to make a mailing poster that represented RIT’s College of Imaging Arts & Sciences (CIAS). We decided that we wanted to use the word ‘INNOVATE’ and model each letter to represent individual schools within CIAS. It’s not necessary a new concept, but we wanted to challenge ourselves to create some simple, yet awesome 3D letters out of different objects. First, we split the letters so each person modeled 4 letters. Linzi modeled INNO, and I modeled VATE. After couple of renditions, we decided to replace the I, second N, and E into less detailed models so that it encompassed the other complex letters. We touched up and textured each other’s models until the letters worked together coherently.
This is just a render of the 3D models without the content for the poster. It will eventually be a 4-5feet long poster that’ll be used for RIT’s portfolio day.
