Innovate.

innovateLinzi and I worked together to make a mailing poster that represented RIT’s College of Imaging Arts & Sciences (CIAS). We decided that we wanted to use the word ‘INNOVATE’ and model each letter to represent individual schools within CIAS. It’s not necessary a new concept, but we wanted to challenge ourselves to create some simple, yet awesome 3D letters out of different objects. First, we split the letters so each person modeled 4 letters. Linzi modeled INNO, and I modeled VATE. After couple of renditions, we decided to replace the I, second N, and E into less detailed models so that it encompassed the other complex letters. We touched up and textured each other’s models until the letters worked together coherently.

This is just a render of the 3D models without the content for the poster. It will eventually be a 4-5feet long poster that’ll be used for RIT’s portfolio day.

Printed!

I decided to get some of my projects printed on awesome paper-ness. The two eco hero posters were wide format prints, and the Cinema Flash prints were around 8″x12″. They were printed on photo pearl paper which gave them nice gloss to the pieces, and had really nice thickness to it too. I love RIT, especially because of it amazing printing facilities. The prints all together cost around $60 to print, and I’m really happy with how it came out.

I’m currently fixing many of the cinemaflash prints, but once they’re done, I’m thinking of printing them in limited quantities. Anyone interested in buying the prints?

Oh, and I also finished the tree print for CinemaFlash. I made changes to her leg, so it looks more like she’s growing out of the tree root.

I’m still working on the artist print, and the underwater shoots. Hopefully it’ll be done soon.

graduated

I finally graduated!! My friends and I decided to decorate our graduation hats with colored tape – I had to draw a teddy bear on mine lol My parents came all the way from Japan to attend my graduation, which was really sweet of them.. Luckily,I was given High Honors and got to wear a honor’s yellow tassel (aka shoulder bling) with my gown too.

Last 10 days, I’ve been spending time finishing up projects, hanging out with friends, and packing up my things. It’s so weird to be done with school, and having no more commitments..

Now that I have more time, I’m going to work on more personal projects, and start my job search. I’m pretty freaking nervous XS

picture-2

I just had to put this up… The version files for the dev of the Sociable table were all named very uniquely.

My favorites are version ‘poop squiggley 9000HD’ and ‘Mega zebra bunny’ LOL

Of course,  we had to rename all the files to organize everything in the end.

jae

For our new CinemaFlash series, we wanted attempt in taking underwater photography! We bought scuba lights, and an underwater camera case for a SLR camera. My dear friend Jae was our model.

It’s not as bright as I wanted it to be, but hopefully this will do the job.
