I came back from FITC on Tuesday! It was an amazing experience, and it was nice to be inspired by new technology & creativity everyday! Too many things happened, so I figured I should just talk about some of the souvenirs that brought back from Toronto lol. Adobe said that they would be posting up videos of the presentation from FITC: http://www.fitc.ca/.
{Day 1}
After checking in at the FITC counter, they gave me alot of goodies!! This year FITC’s main print designs were done by Joshua Davis! Of course being a fan, I kept all the stuff of his including the pamphlets, mini schedule book, name tag, and EVEN CRAYONS. My friends and I were super excited about getting the crayons, and being a hyped up college kid who just arrived to FITC, I wanted to go crazy with them….but I felt the need of savoring these crayons, so I never ended up using them lol
{Day 2}
2nd Day of presentations, MK12 presented their creative process work of their title sequence, Quantum of Solace 007. It was definitely a worthwhile learning experience, since they went through all their process in finalizing the ideas, and creating the 3D sand effects. After the awesome presentation, I decided to greet the presentor Shaun Hamontree who is one of the owners of MK12. When I gave him my key chain business card, he got really excited and asked for a second one lol.
MK12’s business card absolutely blew my mind. It’s made out of metal with carvings of their logo, and information! On top of that, its cut in the middle so their logo pops out, and is also foldable to set on a table!! I definitely felt lucky to recieve their business card. It definitely became my favorite out of all my cool business card collections.
{Day 3 – The Bear Day}
When I was looking through the gift shop of the Hilton hotel in the morning, I found these amazingly adorable bear mittins! What did I do? Of course, I made an impulse purchase immediately!
In the afternoon, I attended a presentation called “Cool Japanese Flash – Side B” presented by two Japanese flash developers, Yoshihiro Shindo and Saqoosha, since I had heard that the “Side A” presentation was mind blowing. Now when I sat down waiting for the presentation to start, I saw a man wearing a humungous teddy bear hat with tuxedo walking up to the podium. Admittedly being a teddy bear lover, this was the most adorable thing I have ever seen in my life, and I couldn’t keep my eyes off of it. The hat literally had an enormous teddy bear head with straps on the side. This man happened to be Saqoosha, a flash developer who worked in Katamari. Of course, I later greeted him, traded business cards, and asked if I could wear his hat. It was by far the best day ever lol.
